Galaxy Gear Price Cut Possible

Samsung-Galaxy-Gear-23

The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch was unveiled alongside Galaxy Note 3 at IFA last year. This smartwatch was initially only compatible with a couple of Samsung mobile devices, but since then the company has expanded its support base, only to its own devices though, Galaxy Gear doesn’t play nice with devices from other Android manufacturers. The company is expected to announce a successor in the coming weeks, which is what makes this rumor a bit believable. Word on the street is that a global Galaxy Gear price cut may be on the cards.

The timing would be just right for Samsung to make this move, as it would want to clear any outstanding inventory prior to launching an entirely new Galaxy Gear. Previous rumors suggest that it might be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S5 this time around, the flagship smartphone is expected to be announced at Samsung’s Unpacked 5 event. Details on the Galaxy Gear 2 are slim at this point in time, improvements are believed to have been made to the battery life, software as well as the design. As far as the price cut of the original Galaxy Gear is concerned, Samsung has already reduced the price by $120 in India. In the U.S., the smartwatch may soon be priced at $210-$220, but so far there’s no official confirmation from the company itself.
