According to Segall, he believed that Apple’s plan to turn the use of plastic into a positive one actually backfired on them. Posting on his blog, Segall wrote, “Unfortunately for Apple, creativity can be a double-edged sword. The ‘unapologetically plastic’ line in the product video was so interesting and memorable, it got played back over and over in articles about the lackluster demand for iPhone 5c. Not exactly what Apple intended.” He also notes that while the iPhone 5c was priced cheaper than the iPhone 5s, it wasn’t priced that much cheaper and customers ended up deciding to drop that extra $100 to get the iPhone 5s instead. What do you guys think? Was that why the iPhone 5c turned out to be something of a flop?
