eBay Removes Flappy Bird Listings
As you might have heard, Flappy Bird has been removed from various app stores, apparently for our own good. However there are several enterprising gamers out there who have decided to go on eBay and sell their phones for hundreds of dollars, claiming that Flappy Bird comes preinstalled. We thought that maybe these listings were made for fun, but apparently there were several bids made on some of these phones, suggesting that the need to own Flappy Bird is for real, but thankfully eBay has since removed these listings as it has violated eBay’s guidelines.
According to emails that eBay has sent out, the listings were removed as they had violated eBay’s guidelines on selling used devices. The guidelines state that, “Smartphones and tablets must be restored to factory settings before they are allowed to be sold on eBay,” before specifically mentioning, “Please remove all content from your device, including the game Flappy Bird, before you attempt to list your item again. Please be sure your current and future listings follow these guidelines, keeping in mind that additional listing violations could result in the suspension of your account.”
