Canon Rebel T3 Successor Could Be Announced At CP+ [Rumor]

CP+ is that time of the year where camera manufacturers get to show off their brand new wares. The event is being held in Tokyo, Japan this week and according to the rumors, Canon is expected to announce several new compact cameras, and for budding photographers who would love to get their hands on an entry-level camera, word has it that Canon could be looking to introduce the successor of the Rebel T3/EOS 1100D (the cameras are the same, it’s just known differently in other markets).

The Rebel T3 was announced back in 2011 and was launched for $1,099 with the kit lens bundled. It’s definitely not cheap but as far as these types of cameras are concerned, it is definitely cheaper compared to higher-end models, like the EOS 7D or the EOS 5D MK III, for example. In any case with the Rebel T3 being about 3 years old now, we guess it is about time that Canon introduce a successor, so announcing it at CP+ would not be completely out of the question. Unfortunately apart from the possibility that a successor could be revealed, not much else is known about the camera, but do check back with us later in the week to see if there is any additional information to be had.
