When it comes to cameras, Canon is a name that is probably known around the world. In fact safe to say that when it comes to cameras, Canon and Nikon are probably some of the more well-known commercial brands out there, which is why it is not surprising to learn that Canon has announced that they have recently managed to hit the 70 million milestone in terms of the production of EOS interchangeable lens cameras. Yup you heard that right, from 1987 until 2014, Canon has produced 70 million EOS cameras to date. In fact it was in October 2012 that Canon managed to hit the 60 million mark, so for them to hit the 70 million mark in a little over a year is pretty impressive.
In fact Canon is pretty pleased with themselves as they have also announced that that 75% of the professional photographers covering the Super Bowl utilized the company’s DSLR and EF lenses, at least based on a survey conducted by the company. “Canon is honored that more than 75 percent* of professional photographers covering the game utilized Canon DSLR cameras and EF lenses to capture and share the memorable moments of the gridiron matchup. Canon broadcast lenses were also used extensively to deliver the game to more than 111 million television viewers.” Those are indeed pretty impressive numbers, good job Canon!
