Stratasys Launches First 3D Color Printer In The World

It is always encouraging to read about world’s firsts, and today, we are privy to the very real possibility of the first 3D color printer in the world, thanks to the efforts of a company known as Stratasys who showcased their 3D printed dresses at Paris Fashion Week early last year. Stratasys has called their Objet500 Connex3 Color multi-material 3D printer as “a game-changer for product design, engineering and manufacturing processes.”

The Objet500 Connex3 3D Printer will boast of a unique triple-jetting technology which will merge droplets of three base materials in order to roll out parts that will virtually have unlimited combinations when it comes to rigid, flexible, and transparent color materials, not to mention color digital materials to boot. All of this in a single print run is also an unprecedented achievement, which is a good thing. It will also be able to assist product manufacturers to validate designs while allowing them to make a good decision prior to committing a particular design or product earlier before committing to manufacturing, and being able to bring products to market faster.

Just like a 2D inkjet printer, the three color materials are VeroCyan, VeroMajenta and VeroYellow, where they will be able to combine in order to deliver hundreds of colors at your whim and fancy.
