Technology is everywhere. We carry it around with ourselves, we even wear it. It has already crept into our homes and now we’re being treated to solutions that manage said technology in a much more efficient way. Archos recently announced its “Connected Objects,” which aim to connect technology that we use everyday. Today Samsung unveiled a new platform that will allow users to control and manage home devices through one single app, the platform is called Samsung Smart Home and it will be showcased at CES 2014.

Samsung Smart Home has three main features, Device Control, Home View and Smart Customer Service. It will be commercially rolled out in the first half of 2014. The company will work with other manufacturers to extend Smart Home to their products and services. This integrated platform will let users control a wide variety of devices from refrigerators and washing machines to digital cameras, smartphones, wearable devices and smart TVs. Home View will offer users real-time views using built-in cameras and Smart Customer Service will notify them when its time to service appliances.

Users can control home devices using Device Control, so if they want to turn lights on and off even when they’re not at home, they can simply do it through the app. Smart Home also offers voice command feature on all controller devices, saying “going out” to the Galaxy Gear will automatically turn off lights and selected appliances. Smart Home will initally be deplyed on a range of Samsung smart TVs, smartphones and home appliances. It will be expanded to additional Samsung products and devices and appliances from other manufacturers.
