Samsung has just issued an update on the situation of its latest Android KitKat update that was introduced for the Galaxy Note 3, just a couple of days after Samsung admitted to the way this KitKat update actually caused issues with some of the accessories out there. This was what Samsung mentioned two days back as we reported, “We have currently identified a software compatibility issue with the Galaxy Note 3 update to Android 4.4 (KitKat) and select 3rd party accessories. A software update will be available shortly. We are committed to offering a diverse and reliable mobile experience for all customers, providing continued support and solutions for any issues that arise with product updates for both Samsung manufactured and third-party accessories.” Similar to their official counterparts, there were unofficial versions of the S-View accessory which will depict not only the time but notifications via a transparent pane over the top half of the cover.
At first, complaints are aired over on XDA-Developers forums, where issues affected owners of the $60 Spigen S-View Slim Armor for the Galaxy Note 3. Galaxy Note 3 owners, however, were not too pleased after a German Samsung fan site circulated what sounded like a denial from Samsung concerning the compatibility issue between the KitKat update and third-party accessories. Ah well, all’s well that ends well, no?
