The PiPad tablet is definitely a one of a kind tablet prototype, where this particular device will run on the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi is a $35, credit-card-sized, fully-functioning computer which has managed to garner its fair share of fans since it was released, but considering how it is not too powerful to begin with no thanks to a 700MHz ARM11 CPU and 512MB RAM, do not expect the PiPad to deliver stellar performance.
Needless to say, it is unable to hold a candle to the likes of the high end Apple iPad or the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, but Castor claims that his PiPad has more than enough firepower underneath the hood to do the bare necessities, such as checking his email and surfing the Internet. The PiPad will run on a custom Linux distribution for the Raspberry Pi known as Raspbmc, where it supports 1080p video playback and HTML5. [Product Page]
