Panasonic’s Upcoming GH Mirrorless Camera Will Have 4K Video Recording
Is 4K the way of the future? Will the new UHD resolution replace FHD? We guess it’s only a matter of time before it does, given the way of things, and perhaps hoping to encourage more 4K video is none other than Panasonic who teased a new GH mirrorless camera at CES 2014 which the company promises will allow for recording of 4K video. We’re afraid to think how much memory/storage 4K videos will take up, but we guess for those looking to embrace the format, the upcoming Panasonic GH camera will be able to get the job done, and then some. According to Panasonic, the video can be recorded at 200 Mbps and output them as a live feed via a mini HDMI port onto a computer or a hard drive.
Of course one can always save the footage onto a SDXC card, but as we said earlier, there is a good chance you will run out storage fairly quickly due to the file size being extremely large. Unfortunately the rest of Panasonic’s GH camera remains a mystery for now, but according to the company, they plan on unveiling the camera in full come February 2014. Pricing will presumably be announced then as well, but for now some have speculated that such a device could be priced anywhere up to $2,000. Either way check back with us in February for all the details. In the meantime who else is looking forward to a camera capable of 4K video capture?
