[CES 2014] Mercedes-Benz makes some of the most desirable vehicles which not only focus on optimum driving pleasure, but also offer a barrage of features in order to make the passengers’ lives easier. Imagine being able to set your thermostat while you’re on your way home, so that its warm and toasty when you step out of the car and rush into your house on a cold day. Mercedes-Benz vehicles will let you do that, as the company has announced it will integrate Nest smart thermostat controls in its Digital DriveStyle app.
A former Apple engineer is behind the Nest smart thermostat, which allows users to control settings using their mobile devices. At CES 2014, Mercedes-Benz has demonstrated just how the integration will work using Nest’s web APIs. This would definitely make life easier for drivers who will be able to set the thermostat on their way home. The car manufacturer is working on creating a new interactive experience which aims to increase convenience for drivers. The feature is planned for a release in Spring 2014 as part of its Digital DriveStyle app, which currently offers features like Facebook, Twitter, internet radio, real time traffic information, local search and Street View from Google and a lot more.
