[CES 2014] Buffalo is a company known for its wired and wireless networking as well as network and direct attached storage solutions. The company has come with a number of new products at CES 2014, products like a 1TB portable HDD that doubles as a portable charger and Wi-Fi hotspot. The LinkStation 200 is Buffalo’s new series of network storage devices. Using these devices, customers can easily backup data, store, access, organize and stream media files using any computer or mobile devices. Users will also be able to set up a free personal cloud which can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
The series contains single-drive LinkStation 210 and dual-drive LinkStation 220 models, supporting up to 4TB and 8TB of onboard storage with RAID 1, respectively. Since they’re DLNA compatible, they can be used to stream content to a number of supported devices. Users will be able to backup five home or office Windows PCs using NovaBACKUP Professional and Macs using Time Machine. For additional backup, a USB hard drive can be added, users can also attach a USB printer to the network.
Buffalo’s free WebAccess service allows users to create a personal cloud which can be accessed from anywhere and easily shared with anyone. Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android, while the cloud will also be accessible via the web. The single-drive LinkStation 210 will be available for purchase in Q2, 2014, starting at $169.99. Dual-drive LinkStation 220 will also be available in Q2, 2014, starting at $239.99.
