Galaxy S5 Display Rumor Contradicts QHD Resolution

Its not like there’s any shortage of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S5, but can expect to be treated to new rumors each and every day until the smartphone is official. It might take a while before that happens, the company is expected to make an announcement at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona next month, though that too is yet to be confirmed. Previous display rumors have hinted at a possible QHD resolution, but today a contradictory Galaxy S5 display rumor begs us to consider the possibility of Samsung’s next smartphone having a 1080p display instead. Don’t confuse QHD with qHD, they’re both totally different, 540×960 pixel resolution is qHD, which we can rule out for Galaxy S5.

A purported Galaxy S5 variant was spotted on Korean carrier LG U+’s website, which happens to be the third largest carrier in the country. The variant carries model number SM-G900L, similar to other purported Galaxy S5 variants that have surfaced online. According to the listing on LG U+, this Galaxy branded smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat had has a 5.1 inch 1,080×1,920 pixel resolution display. Previous rumors suggest a possible Quad HD 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution at 5.25 inches, in fact that’s the number which has been consistent in almost all Galaxy S5 display rumors. There are two possibilities to consider, the listing might not be accurate, or the Galaxy S5 display isn’t going to be as revolutionary as everyone has come to believe. Time will certainly tell.
