It was not too long ago that Foxconn chairman Terry Gou was tipped off to have mentioned that the new BlackBerry smartphones which are manufactured by his company would end up on the Mobile World Congress showfloor in Barcelona, Spain, later in February. Apparently, it seems that one of these new and upcoming smartphones would be known as the STJ100-1 where model numbers are concerned, as the Bluetooth SIG had already approved a handset which sports this particular model number, and it has been specially designed to run BlackBerry OS 10.2 – an operating system version that we have heard about for quite some time already, where it has also made its mark in recent days.
The new Foxconn-manufactured BlackBerry smartphone with OS 10.2 has just received its certification, where it could be known as the Jakarta STJ100-1. It is nice to see BlackBerry pay homage to the capital of their most staunch markets in the world even where everyone else is ditching BlackBerry for other mobile platforms by naming this as the BlackBerry Jakarta according to some rumors, which some believe it to come with a full-touch display as well as a missing QWERTY keyboard. Apart from that, it had also received a certification in Indonesia, where you can check it out in the image below.
