While we’re sure each developer has their own methods of developing games, over at Capcom they have admitted that due to the complexity of next-gen consoles that it might actually take 8-10 times longer to develop a game. Speaking to the Official Xbox Magazine, Capcom senior manager, Masaru Ijuin was quoted as saying, “It’s clear that heightened game quality leads to a rise in the number of man hours. The amount of work involved in making games for next-gen consoles is eight to ten times greater than what is required for the current generation of consoles.” Like we said each studio probably has their own system of developing games, but in case you were wondering why it’s taking a bit long for games to hit the market, here’s one of the reasons why.
