T-Mobile took a lot of unconventional steps last year which played out in its favor. The carrier increased its subscriber base significantly in 2013 and it certainly wants that momentum to continue in the new year, which is why it has taken yet another unconventional step. For every friend you refer to T-Mobile, and they switch from their existing carrier to Magenta because of your referral, you will receive $25. You can refer up to 10 friends each year, and thus be entitled to up to $250.
Through its latest “Uncarrier” move, T-Mobile is offering to pay the early termination fee of a customer’s family if they decide to leave their existing carrier mid-contract. At first this deal required that carriers come from either Verizon, AT&T or Sprint, but T-Mobile has opened it up to subscribers of small carriers as well. So if a friend switches on your referral, T-Mobile will pay their early termination fees and will also give them an instant credit if they trade-in their existing device for a new one. You will receive a $25 promotional gift card that can be used at T-Mobile. It should be kept in mind though that this is a limited time promotion and not a new program in T-Mobile’s uncarrier movement. The $25 credit can take up to 6-8 weeks to process.
