Samsung is in the habit of releasing several variants of its flagship devices, the Galaxy S4 is a prime example. The company followed up last year’s flagship smartphone with the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy S4 Active, which is dust and waterproof. Galaxy S4 Active would make the perfect companion if you feel the need to make your smartphone combat the elements. The variant is available through AT&T and the carrier today released Android 4.3 update for it, bringing it in line with the rest of last year’s Galaxy lineup.
It goes without saying that Android 4.3 isn’t the latest OS iteration, Android 4.4 KitKat is, but it will take some time before that particular update is rolled out. Nevertheless, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean also brings a host of new features. This particular update, carrying version number I537UCUBML2 brings the ability to drag and drop to uninstall or disable applications as well as the AT&T “Signature Experience,” which loads bloatware such as Kindle, Lookout, City ID, Password Keeper, Games and AT&T Mobile Protection on the Galaxy S4 Active. The Android 4.3 update also comes with support for Galaxy Gear, Samsung’s 2013 smartwatch that is billed as a companion for you Galaxy device. This update weighs in at 772MB and can be pulled for download by checking for updates in the system update menu on the device itself.
