One thing about leaks is, it can be pretty difficult knowing whether a particular leak is going to be true or not, and only the test of time will be able to tell. In this case, we have Left 4 Dead 2’s plantation map leaked out in an image, where it is supposed to show up in an updated format in Valve’s Source 2.0 engine. Word on the street has it that Valve is right now working on Left 4 Dead 3, but we will not really be able to tell though. Still, the alleged leaked image that you see above does depict that the game studio could very well be working on Left 4 Dead 2 content still.
Of course, assuming it is all true, the improved detail happens to be extremely impressive. The thing is, there has been no reference whatsoever to Left 4 Dead 3 or Half-Life 3, and not only that, there are no other implications around that this could very well end up as nothing more than a tech demo so that developers will be able to have their socks wowed off. Do you think that Valve is considering the possibility of releasing Left 4 Dead 2 updated in Source 2.0? The ticking of time will always be able to reveal all things eventually.
