The design of the G1 X Mark II is said to be similar to the original G1 X but with sport a slightly longer 24-120mm f/2.8-5.8 lens. It will also pack a 20.2MP 1.5” CMOS sensor, a “real image” optical zoom viewfinder, and a 3” LCD touchscreen display. No word on pricing either but we can only assume it will not deviate too far from the G1 X’s mark. Canon’s G series of cameras have typically hovered between the casual photographer and the hobbyist, packing some pretty decent specs into a small-ish body that can be easily carried around, but with mirrorless cameras starting to make their mark, will such cameras prevail?
