UbiSlate 7Ci Tablet Announced For £30
Tablet prices, just like smartphones, ranges from cheap to expensive, with cheaper tablets usually sporting low-end specs and does away with a lot of features to help cut costs, which is perfectly fine for the user who simply wants to browse and watch videos on a display bigger than a smartphone. Over in India we had heard about the Aakash tablet, a tablet which was priced at a staggering $35, but now it looks like the tablet has decided to make its way out of India and to the UK, where the tablet will be launched under the name of the UbiSlate 7Ci and will be priced at an affordable £30, with its manufacturer boasting that it is the “world’s cheapest tablet”.
In terms of specs there’s really nothing to shout about. It will feature a 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU and will be accompanied by 512MB of RAM. It will also sport a 7” WVGA 800×480 display, 4GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD, and will run on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, although oddly enough the launcher in the photo above seems to be that of Android 2.3 Ginger Bread. Either way like we said it is not the most powerful tablet, but for those who aren’t expecting too much or don’t expect to do much on their tablets, we expect that this will get the job done just fine.
