Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition Gets Android 4.4.2 Update To Fix Uninstall Bug

Earlier we had reported that the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition was being plagued by a rather odd bug that would prevent the user from uninstalling apps. App uninstallation is usually a straightforward and painless process which can be accomplished by either dragging the app to the trash bin icon, or head on over to the Google Play store and uninstall it from there. Well the good news is that if you are a Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition owner, you might want to keep an eye out for the Android 4.4.2 update as that update will supposedly squash that particular bug on the device.

It is unclear as to what might have caused the bug, but some have speculated that a rush job to get the handset out there could have been a factor. In any case the update is said to weigh in at around 448MB and apart from solving that issue, the update will also introduce a host of new features and changes that are associated with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, so either way it is an update worth getting your hands on. The update has already been issued to the likes of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Play Edition devices. If you have not received the update, fret not as chances are it is being rolled out in batches, so be patient and we’re sure it won’t be long before it is your turn.
