Earlier this year Sony released their first “lens style cameras.” The DSC QX100 and DSC QX10 are basically stand-alone cameras that resemble lenses, they can also be mounted on a smartphone using the mount that’s built-in to it so that the smartphone can be used as a remote control and a viewfinder. They work with Android and iOS devices and reportedly even BlackBerrys. Sony also launched the Xperia Z Ultra smartphone this year which was praised for its impressive specifications. As it turns out, the Z Ultra is so large that the standard mount on Sony’s lense style cameras doesn’t suffice. The company fixes this problem with a new case for the Xperia Z Ultra.
The camera attachment case for Xperia Z Ultra is going to be launched in January, its actually quite similar to the one Sony has unveiled for Xperia Z and Xperia Z1. Using this custom case, Xperia Z Ultra owners can easily mount the QX10 and QX100 cameras, and the case will be available in both black and white so they can coordinate colors of the smartphone, the camera and the case. Sony has announced the case for Hong Kong right now where it will be sold for around $30. The company is yet to reveal when this case will be made available in other markets.
