Sharp Mebius Pad Set To Hit Japan In Late January 2014

Sharp’s flirtation with the world of IGZO displays have resulted in some interesting creations before, and we certainly had an IGZO overdose over in CEATEC 2013 earlier this year in Japan. Having said that, we now have gotten word that Sharp will be rolling out the Sharp Mebius Pad in the Land of the Rising Sun in January next year, where this 10” tablet will come with an IGZO display that has a whopping 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, running on an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, alongside Windows 8.1 as the operating system of choice.

The thing about Sharp tablets is this – chances are pretty high that it will not make it to the US in the near (or far) future, so it looks set to remain within the confines of Japan. Other hardware specifications of the Sharp Mebius Pad will include 2GB RAM, 64GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2-megapixel camera in front, with Microsoft Office software. We have no idea as to how much the Sharp Mebius Pad will cost when it finally arrives in Japan next year, but it would not be all that cheap, that is for sure. Your eyes will definitely appreciate the extremely high resolution on the IGZO display.
