OS X 10.9.1 Seeded Out To AppleCare Staff; Public Release Imminent

When Apple seeds new versions of OS X to its employees, then you know a public release is just around the corner. In this case, reports are coming in that Apple has recently seeded OS X 10.9.1 to AppleCare employees, which means you should prepare yourself for the update to come any time now. 

OS X 10.9.1 is expected to introduce improved support for Gmail accounts to be used in the OS X Mail app as well as several fixes for Gmail settings. If you’re a Gmail user who owns a Mac, you’ll probably already know Apple released an interim fix almost a month ago, but this update will help further improve the experience.

That isn’t the only improvement to OS X Mail you should expect in OS X 10.9.1 as it’ll also include better Smart Mailboxes reliability and a fix that will help a known issue that prevented contact groups from displaying properly.

Aside from the improvements to OS X Mail, OS X 10.9.1 will also offer additional minor improvements in the operating system’s performance and minor bug fixes. Let’s just hope the wait for OS X 10.9.1 isn’t a long one, although if we had to make a bet, we’d say you should get the update within the next week.
