It seems as though Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo, has been rather busy as of late. We know that the company is planning on announcing their Find 7 soon, a smartphone with a 2K display, and last we heard the company also had plans for a certain Oppo R1 handset as well. Now thanks to leaked photos and leaked specs, we might now have a better idea of what we could expect in the near future when Oppo decides to officially launch the device.
The leaked photos shows off the metal band around the handset, along with what appears to be a glass back which we can’t help but think is akin to the iPhone 4/4S. Then again, Oppo’s CEO has been likened to China’s version of Steve Jobs, so in a way this does seem to be a bit more than coincidence! As far as its specs are concerned, the Oppo R1 does not appear to be quite the powerhouse unlike the Find 7.
The handset is rumored to feature a 5” 720p HD display and will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset. It will be accompanied by 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8MP rear-facing camera which will apparently deliver stunning images, a 5MP front-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. If anything these specs seem to be different from what we heard earlier, but since both were rumors, take it with a grain of salt for now.
In any case Oppo did mention last time that the phone could be arriving in the second half of December, so hopefully we will have the official details soon.
