Skype for Windows Phone 8 has just received an update, where it ought to come with upgraded features, while the version number of the app will be knocked up to 2.13. According to Microsoft, the new Windows Phone 8 Skype app will see the inclusion of a feature that most instant messaging (IM) users have been waiting for a long time, that is, the ability for one to copy as well as paste messages. Microsoft shared, “You can now press and hold an IM message, select copy and paste it to where you need it.”
Apart from that, this particular new version is also tipped to hasten the load time whenever you want to kick off the Skype app from the Windows Phone live tile. Not only that, your eyes will also be pleased to hear that there is a new high contrast mode which can be enabled whenever a Windows Phone display has its settings set to high contrast. Do bear in mind that Microsoft has already stopped support for the Windows Phone 7 Skype app because they want to concentrate on the existing Windows Phone 8 version. We also hope to see that the future Windows Phone 8.1 version of Skype that is tipped to roll out sometime next year, will be a whole lot of fun as well. Looks like Windows Phone 8 is a platform that is getting more and more social! [Press Release]
