Heads up Surface Pro 2 owners, it seems as though there is a problem with the latest update that Microsoft had issued on the 10th of December 2013, which has since prompted the company pull the update. Microsoft was not specific on what the problems were, but apparently it was affecting enough users to the point where they had to pull it from their servers, lest it starts affecting on a larger scale. According to a statement released by Microsoft, “To ensure the best experience for our customers during the holiday season, we have taken steps to remove the update for Surface Pro 2 that was previously published through Windows Update on December 10th, 2013 […] We are working to release an alternative update package after the holidays.”
That’s right, you read that correctly! If you were hoping that Microsoft would promptly release a fixed update in the near future, you would be mistaken and disappointed as it looks like you would have to wait quite a bit until the holidays are past, which means that we could be looking at a possible release sometime in January of 2014. Until then we guess you can’t really do much but to remain patient and play the waiting game.
