Earlier we had reported that the new Mac Pro from Apple would be finally going on sale come 19th of December, and this was following photos and reports of quotations by Apple’s business teams, all of which suggested that the computer could be released in the near future. Well the good news is that if you think that you could use a new Mac Pro to help further your career or help make life at work easier, you’ll be pleased to learn that pre-orders for the computer have gone live and for those who place their pre-orders today, they can expect their brand new computers to begin shipping on the 30th of December, meaning that they should arrive early January 2014.
For those looking at the bare basics of the Mac Pro, the quad-core model is priced at $2,999 and will ship with a 3.7GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with 12GB of RAM, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage. If you’re willing to spend a bit more, the 6-core model will offer a 3.5GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with 16GB of DDR3 RAM, dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs, 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage, all of which can be had for $3,999. Apple has also listed the Sharp 4K monitor for sale for an additional $3,595, suggesting that we might not be seeing an Apple-made 4K display anytime soon. So, any takers?
