After endless rumors about the LG V510 tablet, which was initially believed to be the Nexus 8, we now know what it really is. As we reported earlier today, the LG V510 is actually the Google Play Edition G Pad 8.3 tablet. LG is the first OEM to announce the very first Google Play Edition tablet, earlier this year the first two GPE smartphones were released. Starting today, the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition tablet can be purchased in the U.S. through Google Play.

Much of the hardware specifications are similar to the LG G Pad 8.3 tablet which was announced a few months back. The G Pad 8.3 GPE has a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quadcore processor, 2G RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a 4,600mAh battery, an 8.3 inch full HD IPS 1,920×1,200 pixel resolution display and a 5 megapixel rear plus a 1.3 megapixel front camera. Speculation about the Android OS version this tablet will run out of the box finally ends. The G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition ships with Android 4.4 KitKat preinstalled, so customers won’t have to wait to get a bite of that chocolatey goodness. Available today in glossy indigo black color, the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition costs $349.99. Availability for other countries hasn’t been determined at this point in time.
