Huawei Ascend Mate 2 Gets Certified To Go On Sale In China
Huawei, the Chinese manufacturer of smartphones that seem to be getting better and better, has just had its Ascend Mate 2 to receive certification so that it can go on sale in China. The body that regulates such certification is TENAA, which is more or less the equivalent of the FCC here in the US. It is always nice to see products go through the certification process, since we will more often than not, be treated to additional photos from various angles and perhaps more information on the upcoming specifications. The thing is, the latest round of news from the certification process point to a contradiction from hardware that was leaked last month.
TENAA claims that the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 will arrive in a couple of versions – one that will target China Telecom (MT2-C00), while the other will end up on China Unicom (MT2-U071). Rumored hardware specifications include a 6.1” 720p touchscreen display, a quad-core 1.6GHz processor, 2GB RAM, a microSD memory card slot, a 13-megapixel camera at the back, a 5-megapixel shooter in front, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, an FM radio, and GPS. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean shall be the operating system of choice, with Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.0 being a certainty, mostly. The previous leak pointed to a Full HD display, so things might pan out for the better or worse here. Only time will tell.
