Wearable devices are all the rage these days and there’s one device that has managed to generate a lot of hype. Google Glass, the internet search giant’s wearable device, is currently in an invite-only phase where people who wish to purchase a unit have to first receive an invite for the “Explorer” program. Initially only a limited number of invites were sent out but throughout the year Google has ramped up production of units and has opened up the program to new Explorers. A wave of customers will be joining the program soon as Google Glass invites are now going out to Google Play Music All Access subscribers.

The move comes after Google Play Music was released for Google Glass, allowing users to listen to their favorite music using either the bone transducer in the unit or the optional earbuds. A few weeks back Google also allowed existing Explorers to invite up to three friends to the program who would then have to purchase their own units. The company is certainly bringing more people on board the Glass project as it looks towards a public release in 2014. If you are one of the lucky Play Music All Access subscribers to receive an invite, bear in mind that you will have to shell out $1,500 plus tax for a unit and will need to be a U.S. resident in order to purchase it.
