Google did roll out a new software update for its Google Glass wearable computer, and in this particular software update, it would see the introduction of more security tools, Hangouts as well as a YouTube feature. In Google’s blog post over on Google+, they mentioned, “You’ve shared your wishes, we’ve made our list and checked it twice, and now we’re closing out 2013 with some of your most popular requests.”
This particular software update happens to be the 12th, and is also the last one for this year. In the previous updates, there were additions of musical features, movie and restaurant information and emergency alerts. Right now, Google Glass has not yet made its way to the mainstream market, but rather, remains in a testing phase, and it is tipped to be available to the masses some time next year although a concrete release date has yet to be set. This latest security update will also be able to give Google Glass users the ability to lock their screen, and in the same manner as that of your notebook or smartphone, only you will be able to unlock your Glass using the secret Glass handshake that requires taps and swipes, making it all the more secure.
