Canon has also announced that the autofocus system on the EOS M2 has been improved, allowing for faster focusing, although we’d probably have to check it out for ourselves, but like the rumors, Canon has confirmed that the new AF system should provide 2.3 times faster autofocusing speed than before. Other specs includes an extended ISO range of 25,600, and WiFi connectivity. The WiFi connectivity will allow users to pair their smartphones with the camera through the EOS Remote app which is available on both iOS and Android, allowing users to take photos remotely or transfer photos wirelessly.
Interestingly enough despite the rumors of it seeing a 2014 release, Canon Japan has stated that the EOS M2 will be released in mid-December, although no word on pricing just yet. It is unclear as to whether this release date is only for Japan or for the rest of the world, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled anyway.
