BlackBerry 10 Devices Reportedly Suffering From Sensor Issues Post 10.2 Update [Updated]

If you own any of the BlackBerry 10 devices, like the BlackBerry Z10, Q10, Z30, you might want to hold off on updating to BlackBerry OS 10.2. According to a smattering of reports, it seems that BlackBerry 10 devices that have updated to 10.2 are experiencing some bugs which appears to be affecting the sensors on their phones. These sensors include the light sensor, proximity sensor, and has even affected the screen rotation. Some users have tried the BlackBerry Virtual Expert and have been notified that their sensors are not even supported on their device which is extremely perplexing.

Admittedly it does seem odd that so many bugs would pop up around the same time, so perhaps there’s something that might have triggered it on a wide scale. BlackBerry has not yet responded to the issue, so for now if you are one of those who have been affected by this bug, you can hit up the CrackBerry forums where there are many users who are reporting similar bugs as well. BlackBerry OS 10.2 was expected to introduce a host of new features to the operating system, such as Priority Hub, Natural Sound (originally a Z30 feature), an improved keyboard, lockscreen notifications, and more.

Update – BlackBerry has announced that it was problems on their side that caused the issue, and that it is not a software or hardware issue.
