I would suppose that these new additions will see ZTE aiming to improve upon their positioning in the global smartphone market. The ZTE Nubia Z5S happens to be the company’s latest flagship smartphone, where it comes with a 1080p Sharp IGZO display, accompanied by a 2.3GHz Krait 400 CPU, 2GB RAM with a Snapdragon 800 chipset in addition to LTE connectivity support. Not only that, there is also a 13-megapixel camera at the back, while a 5-megapixel shooter is located in front. Expect Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to arrive with it right out of the box.
As for the ZTE Nubia Z5S Mini, this will be a more compact and cheaper handset, sharing a similar form factor as that of the Nubia Z5, albeit coming in a slimmer profile with far less impressive hardware specifications. They do seem slated for a China rollout at the moment though.
