Toymail is essentially an app and a toy. The app is what parents/relatives will use to send the voice messages, while the toy portion is for the kid where the toy will actually playback the audio being sent from the app, with the app allowing users to add funny filters to their voices. The app itself is free although sending messages will cost users one stamp and the app will come with 10 free upon download. However additional stamps can be purchased as an in-app purchase for $0.99 for 50 stamps, or you can get a subscription plan for unlimited messaging at $2.99 per month.
The toys will come in a variety of animal designs and a pledge of $50 will nab you one of the “Mailmen” (pictured above) upon successful funding of the entire project. It sounds like pretty fun and cute way to stay in touch with your kids, so if you’d like to learn more, hit up its Kickstarter page for the details.
