Sony’s A7 And A7r Pre-Orders Reportedly 200% More Than Sony Anticipated

Back in October and after months of rumors, Sony finally announced the A7 and A7r compact full-frame cameras. These cameras are small enough to be carried around but yet pack a full-frame sensor under the hood which is probably a feature appreciated by professionals. However given its asking price, safe to say that this is not the camera for everyone, but surprisingly it seems that the camera is doing quite well for itself, at least better than what Sony had originally imagined.

This is according to Sony Alpha Rumors who claims that their trusted source has informed them that pre-orders of the new A7 and A7r cameras are almost 200% more than what Sony had anticipated. So far based on some of the reviews of the camera, it appears that it has been very well met by reviewers, with features such as compactness and pricing being the main factors. While its asking price is definitely more than what your average consumer would pay, it is still cheaper than professional DSLR cameras which could cost twice as much. What do you guys think?
