For those unfamiliar with image retention, it’s basically where parts of previously displayed windows are still visible on the screen even after closing it, or while you’re running a completely different app. This problem is not new to Apple and has been spotted before on the original Retina MacBook Pro. The good news is that this is not a permanent problem and the images will eventually disappear after several minutes, but can be still annoying and obviously no one wants their brand new tablet to come plagued with issues right out of the box, right?
Apple previously allowed replacements of MacBook Pro units for customers suffering from the problem, so if you think your iPad mini with Retina display is suffering from image retention issues, you might want to take your unit back and see if Apple will replace it for you as well.
