LG G Flex Global Launch Expected Soon

LG had already announced its much rumored G Flex flexible smartphone last month, but today it conducted a formal launch event in South Korea. There has been quite a lot of speculation about this device, particularly about whether or not LG plans on releasing it globally. Turns out, the company is working on that, and the G Flex just might be globally launched in the near future. At the event today, LG vice chairman Koo Bon-joon said that the company is having discussions with carriers around the world, and that the G Flex is expected to be available in the U.S., Japanese and European markets.

A global launch of the G Flex will certainly allow LG to lead the nascent flexible smartphone market. It would certainly cast a shadow of Samsung’s flexible offering, the Galaxy Round, which is believed to be a prototype of sorts that will be released in a limited quantity even in South Korea. Besides, the G Flex really does what its touted to do, as this video shows, it truly is a flexible smartphone. Its definitely a unique offering, one that’s likely to generate curiosity among prospective customers. Under the hood, the LG G Flex is powered by a 2.3GHz quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage and a 3,500mAh battery. It has a 6 inch 1,280×720 pixel resolution flexible display.
