iPhone 5s Shipping Estimates See An Improvement
We knew that the iPhone 5s was a hot item, especially the gold model which appeared to be a pretty popular choice, but adding to the fact that there were reported production issues with the iPhone 5s’ Touch ID sensor, shipping times of the handset quickly went from 7 to 10 business days, to a vague October timeline. Well the good news is that Apple appears to have gotten their supply chain in order and things seem to be chugging along nicely, at least for now, because according to Apple’s online store, shipping times of the iPhone 5s (all models) show a shipping time of 1-2 weeks.
Granted this is still a relatively long wait compared to 1-3 days or 7-10 days, but it’s still an improvement nonetheless, and we can only assume that further down the line those shipping times will improve. The reason behind this improvement in shipping times could be due to Apple cutting production of the iPhone 5c in a bid to focus more on the iPhone 5s and boost its production rate. While this might be good news for customers, it might not be for Apple’s manufacturing partners, such as Pegatron, who has reportedly missed its Q3 profit target due to production cuts of the iPhone 5c.
