When it comes to Windows Phone devices, Nokia is probably the name that most people are familiar with, but let’s not forget the folks at Huawei who also make such devices, like the recently announced Huawei Ascend W2. The handset was officially announced earlier this month, although Huawei did leave out certain details, such as when the handset would be made available, and how much it will cost. The latter will presumably depend on where you are, but in China it is reportedly selling for around $150, so we don’t expect it to deviate too much from its price.
As for availability, Huawei has announced that the handset will be made available in Russia and the Netherlands later this month, and is expected to roll out to markets such a India in the near future as well. The Huawei Ascend W2, for those who might have forgotten, comes in a variety of different colors, such as black, blue, yellow, or red. It will feature a 4.3” IPS WVGA LCD TFT display with Magic Touch technology. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4GHz (dual-core), 512MB of RAM, and will come with 8GB of onboard storage with microSD support. It will also feature a 5MP rear-facing camera and will not come with a front-facing camera, unfortunately.
