Activision and Bungie announced a beta for their upcoming title Destiny will be taking place some time in early 2014, giving those who pre-ordered the game instant access to the upcoming beta. When the Destiny beta will be taking place is currently unknown, but one thing Bungie is making sure all potential beta testers know is it’ll be arriving on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 first.
The announcement was made last night during Sony’s PlayStation 4 launch festivities by Bungie chief operating officer Pete Parsons and certainly stings a bit for Microsoft fans considering how faithful they’ve been to Bungie’s Halo series over the years. Regardless of that, this is a completely new IP and Bungie certainly has the right to decide who they give early access to Destiny’s beta.
In addition Bungie’s early beta access announcement, the company has also released a brand new trailer for Destiny, which just so happens to be titled “Official Destiny PS4 Launch Video.” As you’ll see from the video, which we think it’s safe to assume was taken from the PlayStation 4 version, you’ll be given a taste of some more of the action that you can expect out of Bungie when it’s released some time in 2014.
