We did bring you news earlier on that Sony has already taken the step to disable certain PSN (PlayStation Network) features at launch over in Europe when the PS4 arrives, so that it will be a relatively smooth launch without running into any hiccups. Well, it seems that the PS4 launch in Europe alone will not see the turning off of such features, as folks who happen to live in Australia and New Zealand, too, will be on the receiving end of such “preventive” treatment. After all, isn’t it better to make sure that nothing untoward happens by treading a cautious path, rather than to be gung-ho about it and having to deal with firefighting tasks later?
Of course, the two features on PSN that will be disabled would be the What’s New and content info sections, and needless to say, Sony has guaranteed that once the launch day frenzy is over (or perhaps slightly more than that), all activity will resume as normal, as though nothing had happened between now and them. Sony is also pretty sure that turning off these PSN features will not have a negative impact on gameplay where multiplayer and other core features are concerned, but do take note that something like this is set to happen.
