The Chromebook market has certainly been heating up with Acer recently announcing they’d be offering a Haswell-equipped laptop that only costs consumers $200. It seems Acer isn’t done shocking the world with its Chromebook products as they’re announcing a new touchscreen Chromebook, the Acer C720P.
The C720P is only the second Chromebook to feature a touchscreen display, with the $1,299 Chromebook Pixel being the first. Unlike the Pixel, the C720P is priced at a more consumer-friendly $299 and is expected to go on sale in early December across Amazon, Best Buy and Acer’s own online store. Before you open your wallets up and throw wads of cash at your screen, let’s first take a look at what the C720P has got going for itself.
The Acer C720P features an 11.6-inch HD LED 1366 x 768 display, an Intel Celeron 2955U processor based on Intel Haswell’s micro-architecture, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB SSD and is said to last for up to 7.5 hours and will boot up in 7 seconds. The C720P also features an HD webcam, a dual speaker design, a USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port, HDMI port and weighs a total of 2.98lbs.
Chromebook buyers will also enjoy 100GB of free Google Drive storage for the first two years from the time they initially set up their laptop as well as 12 free Gogo Inflight passes.
