New iLife And iWork Icons Appear On Apple’s Website, GarageBand Becomes Free
Come 22nd of October, Apple is expected to announce several new products and updates to existing ones, such as the changes made to their iWork and iLife suites that will be receiving an iOS 7 makeover. The other day it was spotted that iPhoto and GarageBand had new iOS 7 icons, and now thanks to an update to its Built-in Apps page, we are now getting a glimpse at the rest of the revised icons, such as iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Interestingly enough it seems that Apple has also noted that their music creation app, GarageBand, will become a free basic download for all iOS 7 devices, although the kicker is that there will be in-app purchases where additional instruments and sounds can be bought for a fee.
It was originally thought that GarageBand would be included in the move to make iLife and iWork apps free for iOS, but licensing problems might have kept Apple from doing so, at least until now where presumably Apple has managed to work out a licensing deal with the creators of the sounds and instruments used in the program. Apart from a possible announcement regarding the updates to the iWork and iLife apps for iOS, Apple is also expected to announce new iPads – the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2, as well as refreshed MacBook Pro computers and the Mac Pro as well.
