Moto G Could Be The Official Name Of the Motorola DVX
The other day Motorola trademarked the name “Moto G”, leaving us to wonder if perhaps the name could be referring to a new handset. Well wonder no more because according to the rumors, it seems that the Moto G name is actually the official name of the Motorola DVX, which for those unfamiliar has been tipped off to be the lower-end version of the Moto X handset which was released a couple of months ago, although given that the Moto X is hardly the most powerful handset we can only imagine how low-specced the Moto G will be. However given that the Moto G has been pegged for emerging markets, we guess price is more of a priority rather than hardware specs, so perhaps the handset could go on and sell pretty well.
According to the rumored specs, the Moto G will feature a 4.5” LCD display and will be powered by Motorola’s very own X8 Computer System. It will also sport dual SIM capabilities, a feature which seems to be rather common in phones targeted at emerging markets, and is also expected to see a rather affordable price tag of $200-$250 off-contract. The official specs have yet to be released so take it with a grain of salt for now, but with the Moto G purportedly scheduled for a launch by the end of the year, we guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out all the official details.
