More Than 8 Million Nokia Lumia Smartphones Sold This Quarter, Says WSJ

Nokia used to be the de facto name when it came to mobile phones, but somewhere along the way, something went wrong – and they were knocked off their perch by the slew of smartphones that were released by other manufacturers. Well, the Finnish company has decided to throw their weight behind Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, and they have grown from strength to strength, with a reported 8 million plus Nokia Lumia smartphones sold in the previous quarter.

This would include a gradually increasing smartphone market share in both Europe and Asia, with a most recent report from The Wall Street Journal citing that the company could have sold over 8 million Lumia smartphones in the past quarter. It is certainly good news by any means, considering how the company has been struggling for quite some time already. Hopefully Nokia will be able to build and consolidate itself even further from four consecutive quarters of increased sales of Nokia Lumias.

It is tipped that the 8 million plus devices sold in the previous quarter is more than double the amount sold during a corresponding period last year, while marking an increase from its previous sales figure of 7.4 million for the second quarter of 2013. Are you happy that Nokia is doing better?
