Microtransactions For GTA Online Put On Hold While Server Issues Are Sorted Out
Just the other day Rockstar finally launched GTA Online, an update to Grand Theft Auto 5 that basically allowed multiple GTA 5 gamers to play together online and run amok and do whatever they want. Unfortunately GTA Online ran into some server issues which we guess is to be expected at the start, but what this means is that if you were looking forward to microtransactions, you’d be out of luck. According to a post on Rockstar’s website, “For the time being and until we have been able to get everybody access to GTA Online and things are running smoothly, we have disabled the option of purchasable GTA$ cash packs. Players can however keep on earning GTA$ by pulling off Jobs and other profitable gameplay activities rather than purchasing cash packs.”
Rockstar’s website also lists some problems commonly faced by gamers and have acknowledged them and stated that they are working to get everything running smoothly as soon as possible. It is not clear as to how long these server issues will last, but presumably Rockstar is hard at work at fixing them, so hopefully it won’t be too long before all the kinks are ironed out and gamers will be able to enjoy GTA Online like it was meant to. Until then we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more server status updates, so check back with us at a later date for the details!
