This is definitely the ideal way to celebrate Windows Phone’s third birthday as a public smartphone platform. Basically, you can drop the Windows Phone 8.1 moniker as its carries the official name of ‘Windows Phone 8 Update 3.’ Oh yeah, did we forget to mention that the update will also bring along with it accessibility upgrades, in addition to a brand new developer program which would ensure that this new firmware would end up in the hands of developers in a faster manner than ever before. It does seem as though Microsoft is hoping that new hardware is required to breath new life into its range of Windows Phone handsets, instead of dramatically revamped software, as part of its effort to increase their market share.
