HTC One Max Confirmed To Get Fingerprint Scanner, Says WSJ
The Wall Street Journal has reported that HTC is all set to show off the HTC One Max that will arrive with an integrated fingerprint sensor, although it remains to be seen whether this particular combination of the fingerprint sensor as well as a generous display will be able to arrest HTC’s slide at the moment. Having been rumored for months on end already, the HTC One Max will be the second mobile device under the umbrella of smartphones to deliver a fingerprint sensor, with the iPhone 5s from Apple being the first. This confirmation is definitely more than welcome considering how we were just talking about a rumor of it earlier on.
Just how will HTC make use of the fingerprint sensor on the HTC One Max remains to be seen, but if it were to be a close replica of what the iPhone 5s has been doing all along such as to unlock the device and to authorize iTunes purchases (of course, in the One Max’s case, it would be to authorize Google Play purchases), then it might be seen as a copycat. We would like to see HTC make a revolutionary leap though in this case, and cannot wait for the HTC One Max to finally arrive.
